L.E.D. bracelets from Taylor Swift’s world tour proved crucial for three fans when they were involved in a car accident following the concert at Louisiana State University’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. on May 22, 2015.

Elizabeth Dazzio was driving her sister, Caroline, and a friend home at 1 a.m. when she fell asleep at the wheel and crashed the car along I-110. According to WBRZ, Dazzio was knocked unconscious. The other two girls were trapped, two of the cell phones in the car were dead and the girls couldn’t find the third in the car wreck.

“You could smell the gas and smoke,” Caroline told WBRZ. “I was just thinking we need to get out of this car.”

Upon realizing no other cars noticed the accident from the road, the girls used the light-up bracelets to catch the attention of passers-by by tapping them against the windows. A woman, who noticed the lights, pulled over to help and called first responders.

The L.E.D. bracelets are programmed to light up to the beat of Swift’s music. Each ticketholder at the concert received one.

“As you touch your bracelet post concert, it lights up and changes color,” Avery Talbot, who also went to the show with Dazzio, but wasn’t in the car, explained in a blog on the users’ section of Swift’s website.
